In this course we explore somatic meditation, somatic movement deep conscious rest and restorative yoga as ways of letting go of our patterns of urgency and rushing, of over doing and over stretching.

By creating feelings of safety, cultivating somatic awareness and listening deeply to the needs of the body we begin a little rebellious romance with rest :-)

Somatic yoga is a practice based on attuning and becoming sensitive to sensation in the body while been guided into specific shapes and sequences.

At the heart of the practice is inquiry, an open and honest inquiry into what is happening and what is their to be experienced?

This practice, rather than been concerned with the shapes we make is more concerned with how we feel and what we are feeling. We cultivate ways of listening deeply to the voice of the body, establishing a potent somatic awareness.

In this course you will be invited into a deep somatic sensitization as well as initiating an integration and gentle re calibration of the body. Somatic yoga can gift you with an invaluable sense of trust in the wisdom within, and a deeper sense of safety and resourcefulness.

Somatic Movement Experience Course

See the Way of Soma immersive course happening in Feb 23

Currently taught within a 4 x 1 hour session course format
35e ( 4 sessions)

In Somatic movement we can begin with a seed gesture and grow from that seed into a bigger moving fluid expression as the sensations in the body are given the permission to express themselves.
The movement is exploratory, often done on the ground or close to the ground and we work with the elements of earth water and space. Self touch and breath are all woven into this practice which draws inspiration from Feldenkrais, Authentic movement and Body Mind Centering practices.

The movements are very accessible and uncomplicated and yet they reveal rich often undiscovered territory as they take us deep inside.
Often felt to be empowering, feminine, regulating and nurturing somatic movement can be an enriching addition and field of exploration to accompany a meditation or yoga practice.
